To create custom job competency models, it is important to collect input from several subject matter experts. Our system allows you to easily gather information from a variety of these experts (who may be located anywhere in the world with Internet access) and quickly develop a custom competency model for a particular job.
Subject matter experts are chosen by the clients for their expertise in a particular field or job role. They often include high performers, persons currently working in the same or a similar type of role, employee supervisors or HR personnel. These experts have unique and relevant ideas about what traits are important to be successful in that particular job.
You choose five to ten experts to provide input on each job role. These experts receive an initial email from The Devine Group that contains the Job Requirement Survey (JRS), a questionnaire that takes about 20 minutes to complete and asks them to rate the importance of different aspects of the job. Once completed, the input is synthesized and mapped against the Universal Competency Library. The competencies are then “ranked” high to low according to the priorities provided by the subject matter experts.
In a separate session, a smaller group of subject matter experts can review the prioritization list and narrow the choices to the topmost 8-10 competencies. A highly customized job model is then automatically created for your company to use in selection or development for that particular position.
This option offers an increasing level of sophistication when it comes to defining your workforce. Online competency modeling is a unique tool that is not offered by many assessment companies. It provides a complete competency model driven by the people who know the job the best—your subject matter experts.
